Ernie debut single “My Only One” launch @ Hard Rock Café, KL

A rising star Nurul Ernie Shaheerah Zulkifli, 25, from Klang, better known as Ernie, celebrated her debut single titled 'My Only One' at a well publicized and very well attended launch party at Hard Rock Café in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday 3rd March 2011.

There were more than 250 guests - VIPs, industry partners, media, students, alumni and staff of Limkokwing University’s Sound and Music Design Academy (SMDA) - who attended this unique showcase of creativity which was filled with lively entertainment for all to revel in.

Ernie took the stage to sing live herself at the launch which commenced at 5.30 pm with her lively rendition of her first single “My Only One” and also sang two other songs; one each in Malay (Semalam Kan Hilang) and Mandarin (Fairy tale) which are bonus tracks included in the single.

The launch also debuted the music video of the same song which was projected on a giant screen. You can watch the video clip online on Youtube. The video is expected to reach one million hits within a month.

It was amazing to see Ernie showed her singing prowess and vocals which saw the audience loving it, giving rapturous cheer and shouting for more.

The debut of Ernie’s first single, including the two bonus tracks marked an important milestones in the artiste singing career and she’s on top of the world about the opportunities that will result from this launch.

Ernie is ready to take Malaysia by storm with her debut single. She is currently working on new tracks for her still-untitled upcoming album.

“There’s only one Siti. She is an icon for all Malaysian women and I hope to become like her”, said Ernie with her eyes sparkling with admiration for her idol.

The three songs in English, Malay and Mandarin with pop genre and love theme were produced and composed by members of the production team comprising Ernie herself, the SMDA staff and sound and music students and recorded at SMDA state of the art digital studio at Limkokwing University.

Ernie’s singles are a true testament to the 1Malaysia spirit – there is a song each in English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin.

“I was thrilled to be able to record three songs in the different languages”, said Ernie.

“I’m reaching out to all Malaysians and humbled to be able to use my music to reflect the true Malaysian spirit.”

Ernie, an alumnus and currently the Choir Director of Limkokwing University, also sang 1Malaysia as a popular request from the audience and received a great reception when the song finished.

Malaysians will recognize her as the lead female vocal in two songs – 1 Malaysia and Malaysia Inovatif - which are frequently aired both on national radio and television stations. Both songs were produced by Limkokwing Sound and Music Design Academy.

All in all, it was a great show as everyone had a good time.
