Stars or Slobs?

Good Morning!


I wanted to have a bit of a discussion, which is not something I have currently done on my blog thus far. I'm sure many of you have heard the current stories circulating about Charlie Sheen and John Galliano.

I'm quite a big fan of the show Two and a Half Men and was disappointed to hear it was on hiatus. It was one of those shows I'd put on in the background as I was cooking or cleaning because it's funny and mindless. For those of you who don't know, the CBS network cancelled Sheen's show and apparently it is due to his behavior. Sheen defended his behavior and said he was never late to filming and never cost the network a penny. I wanted to know your thoughts on the story: Should an actor's personal life and behavior affect his/her day job if they act professionally on set?

John Galliano has also been in the spotlight and unfortunately it isn't for his incredible Dior designs.

For those of you who haven't heard, the famous John Galliano has been fired from fashion house Dior for making anti-semitic racist remarks. Galliano was caught on film declaring his love for Hitler and stating "People like you would be dead. Your forefathers would all be f****** gassed" to a Parisian couple. I was literally shocked when I heard this story, and even more shocked when I realized Natalie Portman was the face of one of Dior's perfume. I think it was a smart move on Dior's part to fire Galliano (he clearly has issues) and I agree with Portman's statement: "I'm deeply shocked and disgusted. I will not be associated with Mr Galliano in any way." What are you thoughts on this event? Do you think Dior reacted appropriately?

Stars or slobs? Definite slobs in my opinion.

Versatile Blogger Award.

I've always been a fan of vintage, especially vintage accessories, which is why the new retro watch trend is so exciting!


What's even more exciting is that they greatly range in price... from super cheap to designer ones.

Nothing Rhymes With Orange.

My Outfit.

Every so often I'll upload one of my outfits. I'll try to do it as often as possible depending on my time contraints.


The first outfit that I'm posting is one that I wore out for dinner. It's casual but I think the heels dress it up a bit! I'm also still loving the bandage skirts... I find them really flattering!

Day to Night.

I'm one of those people that is always in a rush and because of this, I get ready super quickly. That is why such "Day to Night" outfits are perfect for me. They're comfortable, yet classy and work under the sun or under the stars.


What do you think of the outfit above? The blazer makes the outfit work appropriate but can be taken off for a night out. The clutch is easy to store in your briefcase or schoolbag during the day and is glitzy enough to spice up the outfit for at night. The shoes are a neutral tone, which work anywhere and everywhere.


What is your go-to piece when going from a day outfit to a night one?

Sweatpants and HEELS?!

Splurge. Save.

Fashion should be about comfort and this runway trend definitely allows fashionistas to mix comfort with something sexy. The sweatpants and heels trend seems to have it all, but does it really work off the runway?


I think this trend could work well for the twentysomethings if it's done correctly - and it isn't easy mixing casual with dressy.


Anyone have any suggestions? What do you think of the looks below?

The CLOG.

Splurge. Save.

I was never totally sure what to make of clogs, but they keep coming back on the fashion radar and since I'm a HUGE shoe junkie, I had to give them a shot. The more I see them, the more I'm getting inspired. Seeing as clogs are 'trendy,' they're not something I'd splurge on... so, look at the ones I found on Forever21.com! Perfect for some style experimentation.

  Clogs were a large part of Chanel's spring 2010 collection, but I have a feeling they're going to stick around as they're even part of Tory Burch's resort wear collection this month.

So, to make them work well, follow these Twentysomething tips:

• Find a clog with a heel. These work better with leggings and skinny jeans. They're more flattering and work well with a casual outfit.
• For wedge clogs, I recommend pairing them with a knee-length dress, scarf and bangles. This way you can go from a day look to an evening one easily.
