MIJF Jewellery Design Awards 2011 winners


The winners and finalists of Malaysia’s first MIJF Jewellery Design Awards 2011 received their prizes in a ceremony held in conjunction with Malaysia International Jewellery Fair 2011 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Sunday 10th July 2011.

The winning entries in the four competition category - ring, earrings, necklace and bangle/brooch were manufactured into masterpieces by Amee Philips Jewellery and showcased during the four-day MIJF 2011 from 7th to 10th July 2011.

The four winning jewellery collections worth over RM258,000 were put on sale during the fair and part of the proceeds donated to Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

Low Sue Mei from Malaysia won outstandingly in both necklace category and bangle/brooch category.

Chen Lin Lin from
China won in the ring category while Lee Ye Jia from Malaysia won the earrings category.

The Most Outstanding Award went to Low Sue Mei who received the most votes from MIJF visitors throughout the four-day fair. She received a scholarship worth RM12,000 for a nine-week gemology course sponsored by Gemological Institute of America (GIA)
Thailand.

The competition attracted over 200 entries from Asian jewellery designer students in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, China, India, Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam.
