Over 50 local artists joined forces to create awareness on the importance of preserving heritage by painting on a once neglected and dilapidated wall of a pre-war shophouse next to the carpark on
The group’s sincere efforts to support the local community in preserving the century-old buildings along a stretch of Jalan Sultan for its heritage deserved to be appreciated and praised.
The buildings are to be acquired by the authorities to build an underground rail station for the Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) project.
The Jalan Sultan Mural painting event which started at 9.00 am and completed by 1.00 pm.was organised by a local daily The Star.
ICI Paints sponsored the cleaning and painting of the wall and the paints for the artists.
