Fun and merry time at Guinness’ St Patrick’s Festival grand celebration in 1 Utama, PJ


More than 2,000 people jam-packed Central Park Avenue at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya on Friday 19th March, 2010.for a dazzling evening party of music, fun and entertainment; and a merry good time in the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day

Presented by Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB), the festival this year was better organized with more attractions and activities. The festive crowd was much bigger with more leng lui (cute girl, pretty girl, nice looking girls or so on) and “leng chai” (handsome guy) got together and celebrated 1 Utama's St Patrick's Festival.

At the Food and Beer Garden corner there were many booths offering mouth-watering Irish-inspired, stout infused food related to the festival such as Irish fish cake, Guinness beef stew, braised lamb shank with Guinness mashed potatoes and beef burger with a Guinness dip all priced at RM10.00 each.

A plastic cup of Guinness draught costs RM10.00 and a bottle of mineral water costs RM5.00

Well, a good cold, creamy and smooth bittersweet Guinness draught always come with good food to pair with.

At 10.00 pm a spectacular fireworks display lighted up the night sky.

St. Patrick's Day or Paddy's Day commemorates the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who died on March 17, AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since and is widely celebrated in various places including Ireland, England, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, among other cities.

Pretty Guinness girls in papal hat added an air of happiness and excitement to the St Patrick's Festival grand celebration at 1 Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.








Costume dancers:
The costume dancers perform traditional Irish dance and other musical acts to the enjoyment of the festive crowd. They wear green as they dance or mingle among the crowd.

There was barbecued lamb and it is best eaten when it’s hot.

A booth selling St Patrick's merchandise. Its all for a good cause as the profit from the sale will go to the GAB Foundation.


The night sky was lighted up with bright and colourful fireworks lasting for 5 minutes.
