Festive joy fills MIC Deepavali open house 2010

The MIC Deepavali open house saw close to 5,000 people from all races and walks of life coming together and being feted to a lavish spread of local food and Indian delicacies at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur on Friday 5th November 2010.

The event this year saw a bigger crowd than last year with guests streaming in non-stop.

On hand to welcome the guests were MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu and other MIC leaders.

Among the VIPs present were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Gerakan president Senator Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin.

The open house enabled party leaders to reach the people.

It was a good opportunity for the multi-racial guests to mingle with MIC and other Barisan Nasional leaders and enjoy delicious food ...an excellent example of 1Malaysia.
