carmodels2012exlusive: Spiderman strikes at Children’s Day Celebration in SEA Park, PJ

The amazing Spiderman, every kid’s favourite super hero made a special appearance at the Children’s Day Celebration event on Sunday 7th November 2010 at Section 21 SEA Park in Petaling Jaya.

Spiderman’s appearance together with three other costumed characters of the anime series “11 eyes” got the kids really excited. The spiderman kept all the kids engaged and even had many parents who came up to him to pose for photos with their children.

The cosplayers were students and lecturer from HE LP University College, Kuala Lumpur and their costumed appearance at the event was one of fun-filled programs organized for the excited children who enjoyed having a great time in a cheerful and fun atmosphere.

It was a truly 1Malaysia celebration with the residents of all ages and races coming together to celebrate the event.

The celebration kicked off with a one-hour colouring contest for children aged from three to 12 years old. While the children had their colouring contest, their parents and others were entertained to guitar performance and karaoke singing.

When the colouring contest ended, the children and parents enjoyed a variety of entertainment such as dance performances and magic show by pupils of SJK (C) Yuk Chai in SS24 Taman Megah and mask-changing performance.

One hundred school bags donated by Kampung Tunku state assemblyman YB Lau Weng San and filled up with lots of goodies from sponsors were distributed to the children.

While the children were all smiles and happy to get the goodies, the senior citizens were not totally forgotten. Fifty residents aged 60 and above each received a packet of 5 kg rice and a tin of milk or a packet of rice vermicelli (beehoon) donated by Persatuan Perayaan Penyokong Penyokong Poh Toh SEA Park.

The Children’s Day Celebration was organized jointly by Section 21 SEA Park Residents Association (RA) and Rukun Tetangga (RT) Section 21 SEA Park and held in conjunction with Universal Children’s day which falls on Nov 20.

It was a cheerful celebration to honour children and promote stronger family ties.

RT SEA Park deputy chairman Cliff Yin said the objective of the celebration was to give an opportunity to the children to have fun and enjoy the day.

There were lots of prizes and goodies for everyone present. You can see the smile on the faces of the children and adults as they received free goodies from over twenty major sponsors among which were CIMB Bank, Indomie, Watsons, Nestle Mi lo, G ar denia Bakeries, Mirinda Sarsi, F&N Dairies, Pureen, Johnson & Johnson, Marigold and Ginvera.

Among those present at the event were Kampung Tunku state assemblyman YB Lau Weng San, MBPJ councillor Jeyaseelan Anthony, former Damansara Utama state assemblyman Dato' Lim Choon Kin, Yoke Wong Thai Tay Temple SEA Park senior medium Ronnie Chiew and representatives from Rukun Tetangga of Section 20A Taman Paramount and Section 22 Taman Len Seng.

The wheel-bound guest from Society of Independent Living For The Disabled gets a calling from Spiderman. It was important for the disabled community to feel welcomed and not forgotten.

The event venue was decorated with balloons and filled with excited children together with their parents.

People of all races and ages come together to celebrate and enjoy each other's company at the Children's Day celebration.

While the children register for the colouring contest, their parents register for the blood sugar and blood pressure test at the registration booth.

It was great to see children from all races coming together and fostering a closer rapport.

Noor Hayati who came with her grand daughter said they enjoyed the program which help to promote racial harmony and foster closer ties among the different races in the neigbourhood.
